Your Profile
Library
How you're designed to learn, grow, connect, and move through the world.
Your Profile is one of the most personal parts of your Human Design. It isn't about your energy or how you decide. It's about the role you're here to play — how you learn, how you relate, how your life is designed to unfold. Most people recognize themselves immediately when they read theirs. It describes something they've always felt but never had words for.

Two numbers. One lived experience.
Your Profile comes from two numbers — one from your Conscious Sun (the black column of your chart) and one from your Unconscious Sun (the red column). These two numbers correspond to lines in the I Ching hexagram, and each line describes a particular way of moving through life.
Together, your two lines create a specific life theme. They describe how you learn best, how your relationships tend to work, what kinds of experiences shape you, and how you're designed to grow. There are 12 possible Profiles in Human Design, and each tells a distinctly different story.
Your Profile doesn't predict your life. It describes the pattern your life tends to follow — and once you see the pattern, you can stop fighting it and start working with it.
Every Profile is built from two of these six.
Before reading your Profile, understand the lines it's made of. Each line has its own energy, its own way of learning, its own gifts and challenges.
The Investigator needs a solid foundation before she can move. She researches, studies, and builds knowledge until she feels secure. Her depth is her gift. Her insecurity when she doesn't feel prepared enough is her shadow.
The Hermit is naturally gifted — often without trying. She needs solitude to recharge and do her best work, but she keeps getting called out of her cave by others who recognize her gifts. The tension between wanting to be left alone and being needed is central to her life.
The Martyr learns through trial and error — through direct, embodied experience. She tries things, they don't always work, she learns from what broke, and she tries again. Her wisdom is earned from real life, not theory. What looks like failure from the outside is actually her curriculum.
The Opportunist builds through relationships and network. Her opportunities come through people she knows. She needs a stable foundation and a trusted inner circle, and when those are in place, her influence grows naturally and powerfully.
The Heretic carries projection. Others see her as someone who can fix things, save situations, offer practical solutions. Whether or not she signed up for that role, it finds her. Her gift is practical wisdom. Her challenge is managing the expectations people project onto her.
The Role Model lives in three distinct phases. In the first phase (birth to ~30), she lives as a 3 — trial and error, learning through experience. After a period of stepping back and observing, she eventually becomes the Role Model she was always designed to be — someone whose lived wisdom inspires others.
Stop calling it a character flaw.
It might just be your Profile.
How many times have you called yourself too sensitive, too scattered, too much of a loner, too idealistic, or too different? How many times have you tried to become a more "normal" version of yourself — only to land back in the same patterns?
Your Profile explains some of those patterns. The 3/6 who seems to always be learning through mistakes. The 2/4 who wants deep solitude and deep community simultaneously. The 5/1 who feels the weight of other people's expectations. These aren't flaws. They are designs.

"Your Profile is not a box. It is a map. And the most liberating thing about a map is that once you understand where you are, you can finally stop being confused about why the journey has looked the way it has."
